“A culture of giving is one where people care about each other and know their own wellbeing is inextricably linked to the wellbeing of others”
About The WHEAT Trust
The Women’s Hope Education and Training Trust was founded in 1998 to support women-led organisations, through promoting a culture of giving. Grants are given by WHEAT to uniquely skilled women who would otherwise not have access, enabling the creation of their own economic and social justice strategies, and to become sustainable income earners. By investing in education, training, and capacity building WHEAT is able to foster women’s leadership and to empower women to uplift themselves and their communities. We believe in the power of women to change their own lives and their immediate surroundings for the better.
Our Vision
A South Africa where all women enjoy their human rights, have access to education, training, and sustainable incomes.
Our Values
As a women-led organisation, WHEAT Trust is committed to the empowerment of women through education and skills training. Our core values include; Trust, Accountability, Honesty, Loyalty, and Respect. We believe in a heart- based approach which uses personal, group, community, and societal engagement and empowerment to achieve economic and social justice. We achieve this through nurturing authentic and ongoing partnerships with grantees, funders, and other role players.
