  • Creating a platform for the public to promote a culture of giving and establish social and economic gender justice through seminars, functions and events;
  • Building the financial resources for second level granting (seed funding) to further develop CBOs;
  • Mobilising financial resources towards WHEAT Trust’s institutional, operational and other programme costs.
  • Giving grants to grassroots women’s organisations nationally to access training;

WHEAT assists companies in achivieng their Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) targets in corporate social investments (CSI) and enterprise development;

Because WHEAT works with collectives of black women in South Africa's least economically developed areas, donations to and investments in WHEAT fall into several bonus rate categories of the BBBEE scorecard.

 WHEAT Trust receives funding from:

WHEAT can help companies and other funds achieving their socio economic and women empowerment goals if they share our vision of women’s empowerment. Likewise, we encourage individuals to align with us and adopt the culture of giving to assist us in growing the fund, thereby strengthening our giving ability.

Companies that are not able to support financially at a certain time are encouraged to motivate their staff to consider WHEAT Trust's efforts and give to the cause.

Women are society's strength. By empowering women, we empower whole communities.
